One of the many great things about SPE conferences is that we all get to establish and renew a great sense of community. The beauty of a blog is that we can now do that long distance. We're seven months out from our November conference here in Asheboro, but we can start a dialog that will build until we all meet at Randolph Community College.

I hope you'll all take part in this networking opportunity. You can make comments or suggestions for the program, make plans for accommodations, see who's coming to the conference, whatever you like.

I look forward to reading your posts and I'm really looking forward to the conference in November!

I'd really like to see a student portfolio review session scheduled. This is one of the only places for students to get feedback outside of the institution. What gives?

Thanks for your comment about a portfolio review session.

Actually there is one scheduled. It's on Friday night following the presentation by Tom Rankin and will be held in conjunction with the reception.

The presentation schedule is so full, that there is little time to have appointments set up. By doing the informal portfolio review early in the conference, it certainly leaves the opportunity open for students to make their own contacts for portfolio reviews during the remainder of the conference.

Thanks again for your input!
